Hello, I'm Xander. Cassie has asked me to write a post so you could get to know me. I really don't know what to say, so I will just start by explaining my family and me.
My real name is Alexander, but I prefer Xander. It's easier to say, and it sounds less like a royal king. My heritage is French and German, which is why I have the name Alexander, but I don't look French or German. I also have Celtic ancestors which no one knows about. That's where I get my orange hair and green eyes.
I love trench coats. I don't know why, I just do. Especially dark green ones. My absolute favorite food is chicken pot pie. I can't stand going a day without it! To make everything better, Cassie also loves chicken pot pie! She was thinking about going on a vegetarian diet, but she's rethinking that now.
I have a lot of freckles, which I hate. I look like I'm thirteen or something. I'm really tall, but those freckles! I just can't stand them!
Cassie and I met at the BBQ party, as you probably know. I really wasn't supposed to be there. Ever since my brother Mikey and her sister Lillian faced off when they were seniors in high school, our families have been hating each other.
My brother Mark is the worst, though. He completely despises all Carsons and will do anything to get back at them. He once threw apples at Lillian while she was at the park with Cassie.
My brother Matt is trying to become a doctor. He's really indifferent about the whole Carson/Murray thing, and I'm proud of him.
Then there's me, and then Zack. He's great. He takes after Matt. He is really smart, and he wants to go into Marine Biology. It sounds boring if you ask me, but that's coming from the kid who got C's and D's in everything that has to do with science.
I'm embarrassed to say this, but the reason I was at the party was because of Lillian. Before I met Cassie, I had a crush on Lillian. I thought that maybe we could marry, even though she was more than ten years older than me. I went to the BBQ just to see if I could talk to her and maybe charm her.
At the party, I realized that she was planning to stay single. She is doing well; a nice apartment, a good job (she is a lawyer) and lots of money. Honest to say, I was jealous. I usually did the worst in my class each year.
I have gotten a lot of pressure from my parents because "I must carry on the family name with honor and dignity". All my siblings are smarter than me! I just can't do it! That's not me. I'm not smart. I wanted to have Lillian so then I could make my parents happy.
Just so you know, I was never in on "Operation: Scare Lillian Carson and All Other Carsons if Possible", or "SLCAOCP". I was only in first grade, and I was in the same class as Cassie. I had always noticed that she was the sweetest girl in the class, but I didn't know that she was Lillian's sister until our third grade science class. After that year I sort of forgot that she was a Carson.
Cassie always got good grades. In third grade, we got paired up to work on a science project. Because I am good at experiments, she let me do the experiment. She did all the writing. We got an A. That is the best grade I've ever gotten.
My family was pressuring me to do something mean to her, but after I- I mean, we- got that grade, I couldn't. Instead of squirting her with grape Kool-Aid, I gave her a flower. A daisy, to be specific. She told me that she still has it. She pressed it in her diary.
Well, that's a little bit about me! I'm so thankful that I met Cassie. She's the love of my life. She's like the sun, rising in the east. I don't know what I would do without her.
